The Premlene Story
The Premlene story begins during the mid 1990’s in Louisville Kentucky. This is where Gary Mottershead, President of GCP Industrial Products, and then owner of an innovative tire recycling company – Recovery Technologies – was asked an intriguing question:
Was he interested in selling tire-recycling units to China?
Captivated by the opportunity he leaped at the chance. However after a few visits, Gary realized the Chinese didn’t need the equipment he was selling. But they did need his help. Specifically, how to navigate the unique requirements of the North American sheet rubber marketplace.
Together, Gary and his partners set out to develop a high quality, long lasting sheet rubber material. Rubber that would be uniform and consistent in quality, roll after roll.
It took Gary and his partners three years before the first roll of Premlene finally left the factory floor.
What started off as a narrow product line containing only rubber matting and commercial SBR, developed into over 4,000 SKUs and one of the widest offerings of sheet rubber material in the industry.
Today, the brand is the largest import supplier of sheet rubber in North America. With more than $5 million held in inventory at partner locations around the US and Canada, you can be sure the material you need, will be in stock, ready to ship.
All sheet rubber materials are produced at an ISO: 9001:2008/2015 and ISO 14001:2004 facility, Premlene is also one of the few sheet rubber brands who can comply with REACH & RoHS regulations.
